On February 20, 2017, BeachCorps President David Searby had the pleasure of discussing the BeachCorps model of voluntourism with the host of “Tendencias,” Francisco Tavarez. Thanks to Francisco for being such an informative and interesting host! It was the first time BeachCorps appeared on Dominican TV. Searby thanked the partners of a great event on Valentine’s Day, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (sister organization of FUNGLODE), FECOTUR (the Foundation for Responsible Ecotourism. Searby also thanked the construction company Best in Pro, which donated a recycling center to the school. Chic, Royalton, and Memories hotels in Punta Cana donated hundreds of Valentine’s cupcakes because it can’t all be work and study!
